Blog 8 English Language Challenges

Hi everyone, today I'm going to talk about this particular subject. Well, I think that this subject is very necessary in the university because it's useful for our professional future. For me it was one of the most enjoyable and least stressful subjects of this semester. I really liked that each blog was about a different topic every week. I also think that each blog made me think about my life in some way. I believe that my greatest strength in English is understanding when I'm listening to the language, maybe I don't understand the correct translation but I understand the objective of what is being spoken. I think it will depend on how quickly and clearly the person speaks. On the other hand, I think I should improve my language with unfamiliar words and create sentences with those words. Definitely, another way to learn English was on my own. When I study I always play music and most of the music I listen to is in English. Sometimes I put music videos with the lyr

Post 7 Changes to my study programme

Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about changes in my study program that I'd have liked to make. Well, in 2020 the Engineering Natural Renewable Resources study program was modified, adding and eliminating subjects with the aim of restructuring the skills that a career professional needs. In my opinion, one of the things I like of the career is the field trips it has, unfortunately for 2 years we couldn't do those fields due to the pandemic and we couldn't apply the contents of the theoretical classes. Even so, I believe that there are subjects that are ideal to have field trips. However, I believe that there are subjects that shouldn't be in the program of the career and I feel that those aren't necessary for our career, such as mathematics 3 and 4. I also believe that there are subjects that should have an application in a practical field so that they have a meaning in the career, such as environmental physics, environmental chemistry and subjects relate

Post 6 Time travel in the future

Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about an interesting topic, a time travel to the future. Well, to be honest I'm not sure what particular time I'd like to go. If we talk about a place, I think I would like to go and explore some new planets to know something beyond planet Earth. I believe that astronomy is one of the most interesting sciences that exists, and the advancement of technology will allow trips to those unknown places, when? nobody knows. Honestly, it sounds nice to say that I would like to go to a time in the future where climate change and human activities do not have a destructive impact on this planet, but I believe that somehow we are in this place and in this time for some inexplicable reason. So, rather than having the desire to be in an utopian time in the future, I believe that we have to do what is necessary in the present to achieve that future, with concrete and significant actions. We can't pretend to be in an ideal world if we do nothi

Post 5 My future job

Imagen
Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about a job that I would like to do in the future. Well, I basically study environmental engineering and in the future I would like to dedicate myself to the conservation of biodiversity, because I believe that flora, fauna and all living organisms are an important part of ecosystems and I think that without them there would be no life as we know it. I'd like to work outdoors most of the time but I don't rule out working indoors either. I hope that the career will make me travel a lot to see places and be able to be a contribution by doing my job. In addition, I think it is important to put the topic on the table and make environmental issues visible. Natural disasters are huge and we are a needle in a haystack. Even so I think that I can do meaningful things in the future with this career. There are many of us who want to build a better world for future generations and I believe that step by step we can achieve it. It will be a lo

Post 4 An important moment of my childhood

Imagen
Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about an important moment of my childhood. I don't remember exactly how old I was, but one day we went with my sister and my mother to a zoo. At that time, as a child the only thing you want is to know animals and you don't know everything that a zoo implies. When we got home, I remember asking my mom, Why are there animals there and not in bigger places like in television documentaries? I don't remember what she answered, but from that moment even as a child, it was always a question for me. Obviously when I grew up I learned about the treatment they give to animals in zoos and Zafaris. In my opinion, those places are a business and they play horribly with the integrity of the animals. The point is that it was practically the beginning of my interest in animals and when I grew up I participated in volunteers and organizations dedicated to saving them. Today my interests are in the same line but on a big scale, the conservation

Post 3 Hobbies

Imagen
Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about my hobbies. Honestly, I don't have so many hobbies and definitely I had many more before the pandemic. For example, before 2020 I used to go to many hills and now I don't go so much. On summer I also liked to work walking pets, I had too much fun doing it. Currently, when I have time I like to watch Netflix series or documentaries that have interesting content and that leave me thinking and reflecting on that topic. Practically, I go to my computer 3 or 4 times a week and the first thing I do is go to Netflix. Finally, the most important hobby to me is doing music through my guitars. Practically every day I pick up a guitar and start to play a melody, learn a song or just improvise, the idea is to enjoy the sound that you create at the moment. Well, more than a hobby, it's a form of expression for me that helps me a lot in how I face part of my life. See you.

Post 2 The best concert I've been to

Imagen
Hello Everyone, Today I ' m going to  talk about probably the most significant concert I have ever been to. On May 9, 2017 Linkin Park visited Chile for the second time at Movistar Arena and I decided to go see them with some friends. I was very excited for that day to come because that band was part of my adolescence. Their lyrics and style of music was different from other bands. Although I don't listen to them much anymore, the only reason I went to that concert was nostalgia. Now, 4 years later I don't regret having gone, especially after the death of the vocalist Chester Bennington almost two months after he visited Chile. It makes me think about everything that was going through his head, his mental health wasn't stable and at that moment we just wanted to enjoy the concert. It's difficult to see and hear him days before his death. Even so, he knew how to give us a great moment for those of us who enjoyed his music. See you.
